ssd Studio is a multidisciplinary design firm delivering a broad range of creative projects. The practice has extensive professional experience in both small and large scale residential and mixed-use projects in sensitive heritage contexts, urban and suburban environments.
Established in 2010 by Architect and Interior Designer Sophie Solomon, the studio focuses on creating holistic design solutions that respond to each client’s objectives and site-specific needs.
The projects aim to achieve a sense of spatial delight and connection to nature with context and character always sensitively considered for the client.

Sophie Solomon - Principal
Sophie is an experienced and skilled sustainable designer with strong attention to detail, communication and problem solving skills.
Sophie completed her Architecture Degree at UTS with First Class Honours, is a Registered Architect and a member of the Australian Institute of Architects.
Within the Institute Sophie actively promotes excellence in Urban Design through her ongoing engagement and contribution to the Built Environment Committee.
Sophie has been involved in tutoring both Design and Professional Practice to Architecture students at the University of Sydney and UTS Sydney and acted as a judge for the International Green Interior Design Awards 2017

Emily Chebaia - Graduate
Emily completed her Interior Architecture Masters Degree at UTS in 2018, originally joining SSD Studio as a part time student.
Working on every project with Sophie, Emily brings design and documentation skills with an eye to detail and Photoshop rendering excellence.
An astute observer of human character, and a strong interest in Adaptive Re-use and City ensures Emily is an invaluable member of the team.
