Sophie Solomon - Principal

​

Sophie is  an experienced Architect and Interior Designer with strong attention to detail, communication and  problem solving skills underpinned by a design philosophy founded in social, economic and  environmental sustainability principles. 

​

Prior to establishing SSD Studio in 2012 Sophie worked for a number of medium to large scale, highly respected and Award winning  Architecture  and Interior Design Practices in Sydney and London.

​

Sophie completed her Architecture Degree at UTS with First Class Honours, is a Registered Architect and a Fellow  of the Australian Institute of Architects.

 

Within the Institute Sophie actively promotes excellence in Sustainability  through her ongoing engagement and contribution to the Sustainability working group within the Built Environment Committee and  the National Residential Sustainability Advisory Group.

Sophie has been involved in tutoring both Design and Professional Practice to Architecture students at the University of Sydney and UTS Sydney and acted as a judge for the International Green Interior Design Awards 2017 and the National Building Designer Association Awards 2021 and 2022

Sophie has recently been appointed to the Inaugural  Board of Directors of the Not for Profit The Better Cities Initiative > , founded by esteemed architect, academic  and writer, Elizabeth Farrelly.
