South Coast Adventures

January 14, 2015

There are so many beautifull places to stay on the South Coast of New South Wales and our favourite is in Mollymook .

Not just for the sheer natural beauty of the coastline but also for the surrounding countryside and all that it offers beside your typical beach holiday.

Milton is a picturesque country town , bustling with people, cars and an old school charm with a hint of a surfy vibe. Not to mention great shopping and coffee, with a backdrop of the mountains and distant ocean views framed by lush green rolling hills.

Hidden in the hills, with an incredible vista across the surrounding  bucolic farmland lies Cupitts Winery and restaurant . You will find quite possibly the loveliest  cellar door , housed in an old Georgian stone building , surrounded by gorgeous cottage gardens and an adjacent restaurant serving fresh , seasonal food that is quickly being recognised as a fine dining option in an area that is already known as a foodie destination.

Uladulla harbour is a uniqe , working  fishing port . Quietly picturesque and full of the character of the fishing boats and local pelicans. Amongst the hustle and bustle of this regional town the harbour provides a nice spot to stop and  throw a line off the jetty.

Burrill lake was introduced by friends this year , as their favourite place for fish and chips followed by a spot of fishing. This dramatic rocky outcrop that reaches bodly out to the ocean and frames the mouth of the river is a wonderfull place to watch the sun go down and remember that while time does seem to pass so quickly , places like this are a wonderfull reminder of the timelessness of the natural world and how this can inspire us in our endeavours.
